Adult Education -- Jewish Mindfulness

When: Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm on Jan 17th, 24th, and 31st
Where: Adult Education Center in First Presbyterian Church

We will take a look at Jewish mindfulness practices, some from rabbinic and medieval sources, and many from neo-chasidic and early Jewish Buddhist writings. In this course, we will explore and discuss the practices, and perhaps experiment a little bit.

New monthly Shabbat morning format with Rabbi Hershenson, starting Jan 20, 2018

Torah image 49:00 am: Class on learning Torah Trope (chanting melodies)
9:30 am: Jewish Mindfulness meditation
10:00 am: Shabbat morning service with Torah study
Where: Library in First Presbyterian Church

Beginning January 20th, our monthly Saturday mornings will begin an hour earlier, at 9:00 am, From 9:00 until 9:30 am we will learn trope (Torah chanting) together, and then from 9:30 until 10:00 am we will practice sitting meditations, utilizing a combination of Jewish mindfulness techniques. At 10:00 am our monthly Shabbat morning service and Torah study will take place.

Come schmooze with TBT friends and learn more about Mountain Star Family Relief Nursery as Kayla Rotunno, Mountain Star’s Development Director, explains the organization. Mt. Star is the only program in Central Oregon providing crisis intervention, family support and the therapeutic services targeted at protecting young children ages zero to 5 from abuse and neglect.

Learn about the Birthday Bag program for the children, funding for the IED emergency devices purchased for classrooms, purchasing and delivering diapers (a health issue) and/or even becoming a Fairy Godparent for a child or helping in classrooms.
