The Meaning of the High Holy Days
Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are the holiest days of the Jewish year — a time for renewal, reflection, and Teshuvah (return). Services are led by Rabbi Sarah Livschitz, with guest soloists Julie Geveshausen, Jo Booser, and cantorial soloist David Gustafson.
We’ve endeavored to create an experience that is as enriching and memorable as ever while finding new ways to spend time together. We invite you to celebrate in the diverse array of ritual and social opportunities described below.

Rosh Hashanah
- Friday, Sept 11 — 7:00 pm Erev Rosh Hashanah Service + Sweet Table
- Saturday, Sept 12— 9:00 am Children’s Rosh Hashanah Service
- Saturday, Sept 12 — 10:00 am Rosh Hashanah Service
- Saturday, Sept 12 — 10:45 am Kids Lesson: Songs, Stories, and Crafts (ages 4 – 12)
- Saturday, Sept 12 — 4:00 pm: Tashlich Ceremony and Picnic
Yom Kippur
- Sunday, Sept 20 — 7:00 pm: Erev Yom Kippur Kol Nidrei
- Monday, Sept 21 — 10:00 am: Yom Kippur Morning Service
- Monday, Sept 21 — 10:45 am Kids Lesson: Songs, Stories, and Crafts (ages 4 – 12)
- Monday, Sept 21 — 4:00 pm Yizkor and Neilah Services
- Monday, Sept 21 — 6:00 pm: Break-the-fast (immediately following the service)

Yizkor Memorial List
Each year we assemble a Yizkor Memorial List to honor departed loved ones. The list of our loved ones are displayed on a screen in the sanctuary during the Yizkor service on Yom Kippur afternoon, and the names of those who died in the previous year are read aloud. If you have names to include, please complete the Yizkor section of the reservation form. A suggested donation of $36 allows you to list as many names as you wish.
Payment deadline: Payments are due for names in our Yizkor Memorial Booklet by Tuesday, September 1st.
Our Tzedakah Project: Family Kitchen
During this season of reflection and renewal, please consider supporting Family Kitchen, TBT’s valued community partner for more than 15 years. Your donation will help provide nutritious meals, served with compassion and dignity, to anyone in need throughout Central Oregon.
Family Kitchen distributes approximately 3,000 free meals each week and depends heavily on community generosity. Together, our High Holy Days contributions can extend TBT’s longstanding commitment and bring nourishment, comfort, and hope to our neighbors.
